J-Hope discussed the importance of his appearance at Lollapalooza for his career in an interview with Rolling Stone before to his performance on Sunday. As an artist, J-Hope, I genuinely find it to be a huge challenge. The ability to simply move forward is crucial, he said. He went on to say that the practice process was lonely and that he missed his BTS bandmates.

On July 15, J-Hope released Jack in the Box, the rapper/first-ever dancer’s album that wasn’t a mixtape. It’s BTS’s first solo album since the group said earlier this summer that they would take a break to work on other things.
