Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Bacon performed a different version of the 1985 Tears for Fears song Head Over Heels as part of the First Drafts of Rock segment on The Tonight Show.

Bacon and Fallon, emulating Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, performed the alleged initial draft of the New Wave song while sporting 80s haircuts. The original song’s opening line, “I wanted to be with you alone / and chat about the weather,” is changed to “I wanted to be with you alone / and talk about the weather,” in this rendition.

Fallon sings, “Got a degree in meteorology / to talk about the weather.” According to the dew point, humidity increases as temperatures rise—summer, plain and simple.

Oh, you’ll feel the sun, says Bacon. And this is my 4-day forecast. To view the forecast, simply glance at the map.

This is not the first time Bacon has performed a classic rock tune on The Tonight Show. The singer and actor collaborated with Fallon in 2019 on a new version of the Clash’s 1982 smash Should I Stay or Should I Go. Additionally, the duo has remade everything from The Beach Boys Fun Fun Fun and The Kinks’ Lola to Tom Petty’s Free Fallin. Even Chris Stapleton joined the group a few years ago for a performance of ZZ Top’s Legs.

Fallon sat down with Fallon during his appearance on The Tonight Show to talk about his role in the horror movie They/Them as well as his TV show City on a Hill. On TikTok, the actor also revealed how he and his wife Kyra Sedgwick completed the Footloose challenge.
