Prima Italian restaurant, in the heart of popular party city Newcastle upon Tyne, has just launched a new interactive cocktail workshop – ideal for those wanting to add a little extra fizz to their final days as a singleton.

The Prima Cocktail Masterclass, which can be booked for groups of eight people or more, starts with a brief introduction to the art of cocktail making from one of the venue’s experienced mixologists, before participants get the chance to step behind the bar and shake-up at least two mixes of their own.

Each session lasts around 90 minutes and also includes a mini cocktail making competition, giving the victor the chance to claim bragging rights as the group’s undisputed cocktail champion.

Paul Bernardelli, who runs Prima with his brother-in-law Fabrizio Saba, said: “Since being popularised in Italy back in the 1950s cocktails have become the drink of choice in bars and restaurants around the world.

“This new Cocktail Masterclass gives stylish hens the opportunity to play bartender for the day and perhaps even create a mouth-watering cocktail to share with their husband-to-be back home.”

The Prima Cocktail Masterclass can be held in Prima’s private function area any day at midday, 2pm or 4pm but must be booked in advance.  It is priced at £15 per person based on a minimum eight attendees, including all cocktail supplies, a welcome drink, nibbles and a farewell shot.
