Let the New Year be a time of adventure with Pandaw River Cruises on an expedition along the mighty Rajang River.

Inspired by Redmon O’Hanlon’s classic journey ‘Into the Heart of Borneo’ you will spend eight nights on board the RV Orient Pandaw on an exciting river cruise.

The journey will take you through one of the most diverse eco systems on the planet and explore the vast number of species of flora and fauna of the rainforest. Drifting through the dramatic and unspoiled scenery aboard the RV Orient Pandaw, a trip through Borneo allows you to unleash the adventurer within.

Departing 10th April 2011, the eight day cruise costs from £1,595 per person. Price includes airport transfers from Sibu, park entrance fees, main meals, tea, coffee and soft drinks as well as a selection of locally brewed beers.

An English speaking guide will be present throughout your journey to guide you through the hidden treasures of the area. Price is per person, based on two people sharing. Departing from Sibu, a riverine town in the central part of Sarawak, the cruise will sail up-river to the smaller towns of Kanowit and Kapit before turning into Rejang River’s main tributary of Baleh to journey into the heart of Borneo.

Passengers will then travel to the Palawan area and enjoy a picnic lunch of bamboo cooking on a shaded beach in a tranquil setting. The cruise will return downstream to the town of Song and continue on to the Melanau fishing Village of Belawai and Sarikei where passengers can walk through longhouse pastoral fields before returning by ship to Sibu.

Price includes airport transfers from Sibu airport, park entrance fees, main meals, a selection of hot and cold drinks including locally brewed beers, and the services of an English speaking guide. On your trip you will visit Durin, cruise up the famous Rajang River to Kanowit, continue upstream to Kapit, travel into the heart of Borneo to Mujong village and take a jungle trek through Song before returning to Sibu.

All cruises depart from Sibu, accessible by direct flights from Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching with Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia.
