Britain’s Got Talent star Jack Carroll to star opposite Aqib Khan in his first film.

The 14-year-old comedian wowed the nation with his amazing comic routine during this year’s ITV talent show.

And after securing millions of votes to be named runner-up in the show Jack is spending time in Blackpool starring in the short film Going to Mecca by Emu Films.

It is the first time the Halifax-based comedian has been to Blackpool and he said he is loving being in the UK’s favourite seaside resort.

Jack said: “It is brilliant to be in Blackpool and I am having a great time. It’s such a nice place.

“It feels quite strange to have people recognising me in public and I’ve had a lot of pensioners coming up and giving me a kiss which is a bit weird but it’s all good.

“I didn’t expect to be doing this a year ago and life is certainly good at the moment. I am enjoying everything since Britain’s Got Talent.”

Going to Mecca also stars Bradford-based actor Aqib Khan who is best known for his roles in West is West, the follow-up to East is East, and series two of The Jury starring Julie Walters.

Aqib said: "This is one of the best productions I have ever been involved in and it's great.

"Blackpool is a fantastic place and I love the Pleasure Beach. I just think it's all so romantic. There are some really nice people about and I'm loving it."

The filming comes just a week after the Harry Hill movie was filmed on location in the resort with comedian Harry Hill, Julie Walters, Matt Lucas, Sheridan Smith and Simon Bird.
